Toby Keith is back in the driver’s seat after battling stomach cancer, and he’s ready to entertain fans once more.

Toby Keith, 62, revealed Friday that he will headline two Las Vegas performances in December to “get the band back in sync (and) get me rolling again,” he said in an Instagram video.

The concerts will take place at Dolby Live Park MGM Las Vegas on December 10 and 11. On October 27, tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. at ticketmaster.com.

These will be “rehab” gigs, allowing Keith to familiarize himself with the stage. The musician has taken a two-year hiatus from music after being diagnosed with stomach cancer in the fall of 2021. He’s lately made a number of public performances, including two pop-up concerts in Oklahoma and the People’s Choice Country Awards in Nashville.

Toby Keith has the ‘old devil … by the horns’ amid battle with stomach cancer

Keith hinted about his cancer treatments in his video advertising the next gigs.

“I rode the old rollercoaster. But Almighty is riding shotgun, and he’s letting me drive for some reason,” he explained in an Instagram video. “I was going to sit here and do nothing like I’ve been doing. Or I can stand up and go outside. Don’t let the old man in, you understand?”

“This is the first time in my life that I’ve been off for more than two years,” he added. I’ve never taken a year off in my life. And the old devil has been at me a little bit through cancer.

“I’ve got him by the horns right now, so instead of just sitting around and waiting, we’re going to get the band back together,” he told me.

Keith received the 2023 Country Icon Award at the People’s Choice Country Awards last month. During his first broadcast performance after being diagnosed with cancer in June 2022, he sang “Don’t Let the Old Man,” a song from Clint Eastwood’s 2018 film “The Mule.”

“I feel pretty good,” Keith said at the Nashville awards show to E! News. “It’s a bit of a roller coaster.” You have good days and bad days, you know?”

He went on to say, “It’s always zero to 60 and 60 to zero, but I feel good today.”
