Shygirl cancelled her co-headlining North American tour with Tinashe on Friday, citing a “ongoing respiratory condition.”
In an Instagram update, the British musician said Shygirl was “heartbroken” by the decision. “Devastated to share that due to an ongoing respiratory condition I’ve been forced to make the difficult decision to cancel my appearances on the upcoming US tour on the advice of my doctor that I can no longer delay surgery,” she said in a statement. Shygirl went on to say, “My thoughts also go to Tinashe and Uniiqu3 as we were all so looking forward to this tour together.”
Tinashe was similarly disappointed by the cancellation, but declared in a separate statement, “THE SHOW MUST GO ON!” The singer hinted that she and her crew had been “working tirelessly” on her own tour, which would be announced in “the coming weeks.”
“This new show is absolutely incredible and I can’t wait to show you what we have been working so hard on,” she stated before concluding: “I love you all & promise to see you soon.”
Tinashe appeared on Good Morning America last month to perform “Tightrope,” a song from her new album BB/Ang3L. “I think it really represents who I am as a person right now, and everything I’ve been going through, and my life,” she said of her sixth studio album, calling it “a melting pot of all things.”
